The World Is Right Outside Your Door
"He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’" - Mark 16:15-16 (NIV)

In Mark 16:15-16, Jesus commands His disciples to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." This profound directive is not confined by geography or culture; it extends to every corner of the earth, and indeed, to the very neighborhoods we inhabit. The world is right outside your front door, and by supporting the Ghana Mission Effort, you are actively fulfilling God’s word.
Supporting God’s Work: You Don’t Have to Be a Missionary
Not everyone is called to leave their home and venture into foreign lands. Take, for example, our co-founder, Rita Libby. Despite her physical health limitations, Rita never traveled to Ghana. Yet, her unwavering support was instrumental in the mission’s success. From her home, she tirelessly supported Owen Yandell, serving as the secretary until the day she passed. Her example illustrates a vital truth: we are all part of the body of Christ, and each one of us plays a crucial role, whether we are on the front lines or supporting from afar.
Unity in Purpose: Every Part of the Body Has a Role
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 beautifully underscores this concept. It reminds us that just as the human body has many parts with distinct functions, so does the body of Christ. "The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ and the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’" (1 Corinthians 12:21). Similarly, in our mission to spread the Gospel, not all of us are called to the same tasks. The ears cannot see, and the eyes cannot hear, yet each part is essential for the body to function effectively.
Supporting the Ghana Mission Effort does not require you to abandon your daily life or sacrifice time from your schedule. You can be a vital part of this mission by simply contributing your prayers, resources, or encouragement. Your support is a testament to your agreement with the mission’s goals, as stated in 2 Corinthians 9:13: "Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else."
The Power of Local and Global Support
While supporting local efforts is invaluable, knowing that a mission is aligned with God’s word and supporting it is equally important. Whether it’s through prayer, financial contributions, or simply spreading the word, your support is crucial. James 5:16 reminds us, "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
Prayer is, indeed, the most profound support you can give. It is the lifeline of any mission, providing spiritual strength and guidance. Even if you are unable to physically join the mission team in Ghana, your prayers and support are indispensable.
